Welcome to the Mountain Craft Shop Company, located in Proctor, West Virginia. Our products, collectively known as American Folk Toys, are reproductions of toys once made at home and handed down from one generation to another. Most of our toys are made of native hardwoods, such as poplar, walnut, cherry, beech, or maple. The toy names may sound strange like our WhimmyDiddle and FlipperDinger, but they are the traditional names from years past. We also use local products such as the marbles in many of our items (Musical Marble Tree, Marble Chute, TicTacToe) are made in Paden City, WV at the Marble King factory. Marble King is one of the last remaining marble factories in North America.
Mountain Craft Shop Co. is in it's 51st year of the most fun business. Our products can be found at many national museums and state park gift shops such as...
Independence Hall in Philadelphia, PA, Bunker Hill in Boston, MA. Appomattox Battle site in Appomattox, VA and The Smithsonian in Washington, DC

We will not be at the Mountain Heritage Arts and Crafts Festival in Harpers Ferry, WV. We apologize to those of you who have visited us there over the years. Please call us for a special discount mentioning that you have purchased from us at Harpers Ferry in the past.
Our sister company, ThistleDew Farm's Gift Shop, highlights all of our toys and is often a destination stop for tour buses and family outings. At our woodshop, folks can see us take logs and twigs and change them into toys. We are open Monday through Friday, 9 to 4, and some weekends from Noon to 3p.m. Please visit, but do call ahead.
